Not So Bad

I had to retype in an entire subsection yesterday that has vanished off of my computer. I typed in a few more short subsections I wrote last week as well. I figure now, I am maybe 3500 words down on the word count. Not as bad as I feared. I'm going to get it all put together in a file tonight and see for sure.

I have two sections ready to go, mostly. I just remembered I need a little 800 word introduction, but I am saving that for last.

Starting tonight, and all through this coming long weekend, I am going to revise my two big sections. Next week I want it entered, and double checked. I'll them add some fillers if needed and the introduction by and through next weekend. I hope to start sending in the files the week after next.

ACK!

I just found out the word count for my game book is the literal word count and not the 250 word per manuscript page estimate many publishers use. Ack! This will probably bring me in way under my word count.

I've got to scramble!

Revisions

I revised the character templates. I need to type in the second revisions yet.

I've reviewed the writer guidelines and the editor's comments from the sample and I'm going to dive into double checking the rest of the first section, which had been the sample he's already seen. It shouldn't be too bad.

I also need to revise the first big section this week. I want it done by the end of this weekend. That'll leave only 1 section to go.

I've done a little research and reading in order to plan for my next projects. I've concluded I don't like Harlequin's Blaze stories. Their 'alpha' males are just too bossy and mean for my taste. I'll stick with the lighter romances.

The Magic the Gathering books are thickly written. I'm debating if I can (or would want to) write in that style.

I don't need to decide just yet. I've got two romances and a SciFi revision I want done by the end of November which I'll be doing first.
