Tiny headstart

I got the first paragraph in PSI Emergency Chapter 31 when I got a warning message that some files on the disk may have lost data. I quickly backed up the disk and ran disk doctor twice, but everything seems fine. The panic, though, has ruined my writing mood for the moment.

Chapter 30 complete

It ran short, only 531 words. All the bad guy chapters are short though. Now I have officially passed the midpoint. I have 166 pages and 35,524 words.

Since I finished so quickly on this evening's writing chores I might try working a little on one of the two White Wolf submissions.

Chapter 30

I'm back to PSI Emergency, working on Chapter 30. Only 250 words so far, but I think I'll be able to crank out a full chapter before the end of the night.

Revision

I made several revisions to the sample chapter and wrote the first draft of the cover letter. I think when the time comes I will e-mail it rather than snail mail it to White Wolf's fiction editor.

Vampire sample chapter

I transformed the scene I wrote the other day into a full-blown sample chapter. It's a roller coaster of emotions. Sexy, horror, betrayal, humor, dread. I'll re-read it for clarity, then set it aside to cool before considering revisions and submitting it. When it is ready it'll be going to the White Wolf fiction editor.

Catching up on typing

I typed the rewritten chapter 28 and the new Chapter 29 of PSI Emergency. The current page count is 163 and the current word count is just shy of the 35,000 word midpoint. The next chapter is firm in my mind. I hope this roll keeps going until "The End".

Playtest

Well, I just got the e-mail about the playtest. The game took longer than the planned time, so they will continue on Friday. So far so good. She gave me a blow-by-blow, but I'll just sum it up for you.

The game has two parts, the first involves finding the murderer of Sister Francis, the second is the search for the Dead Sea Scrolls in the caves near Qumran. The gamers are using the characters I provided and have begun the search for the killer. They havn't found the murderer yet but have collected many clues. The game ended just as the characters are heading off for Qumran.

I giggled as I read the account. I kept thinking, "That's my adventure! I remember adding that twist. Tee-hee!"

So no revisions are needed so far, but the game's not over yet!

Moving right along

I wrote Chapter 29 of PSI Emergency. Now with that one chapter behind me, the next ones are coming quickly.

No word yet on how the playtest went.

Adventures in E-mailing

I finished the revisions last night for Dead Sea Murder and needed to e-mail it to in time for the playtest tomarrow. The e-mail at work, that I usually use, is down again. I copied my files to a disk and took it to Kinko's this morning. The one closest to me was closed, so I had to go clear across town. Once I got there it turns out that their computer can't read a double-density disk, so I had to drive clear back across town and copy the files to a high density disk and drive all the way to back to Kinko's. The the internet connection there went blip. The second connection I tried work and I was able to send in the files. Thank the Goddess!

We now return to our previously scheduled writing

With Dead Sea Murder done for now I am getting back to what I was working on before.

I just signed the contact for the as-yet-untitled anthology for the Rhine Research Center that will include my short story "Switching Chairs". I'll mail it when I go out again.

I typed up a scene that I wrote on post-it notes the other morning.

Writing plans for this weekend include tackling that troublesome chapter in PSI Emergency (again) and reviewing the submission for White Wolf's Changeling game. I'd also like to go to the bookstore and pick up a few of their novels to see what kind of writing style they like.

Revisions; Take three.

Done! At last. I'll have to go to Kinko's to e-mail it to Rogue Publishing later this morning. It'll go to playtest monday and then I will probably have to do another revision based on their comment. I'm looking forward to hearing how the players like it!
