Oh happiness!

The rewrites are done on Complimentary Murder. Typing and double-checking still awaits, but that can wait for a short celebration. The new manuscript, all mismatched and partly handwritten, looks like it might be close to the same size as the first draft, which means that hoepfully the page count/ word count is still nearly the same. I won't know for sure until all the changes are entered into the files and printed out.

Guess what I'm working on tonight.

Revisions! I think I'll be able to finally complete the first batch of rewrites on Complimentary Murder tonight. Then I'll have to enter those changes into the computer and print it out. It'll probably take one or two run throughs after that to make sure everything is in place and correct and while I'm doing that I'll go ahead and send the query letter to the first agent on my list.

I feel really good about the changes. I think it really has possibilities now.

Against the odds...

...I have actually made a bit of progress on those revisions. I'm maybe 1/4th of the way to the end now. My characters are in the last day before the murderer is disclosed.

Sprint Revisions

I don't have more than a few minutes at a time yesterday and tonight for working on revisions. I'm still creeping forward in the few minutes I can squeeze in here and there.

Marathon Revisions

Man, that was a ride! I am about half way through the revisions of Camplimentary Murder. They are going so well that I think I will concentrate solely on CM revisions until they are done. Then I can type them up and see if the word count is still acceptable, then send out the query letter.

Back after a few days off

The past few days I'm relaxed and read. Tonight I plan to dedicate to Complimentary Murder. I think that with those early chapters under my belt that I'll be able to quickly move through the rest of the novel with few rewrites and only minor revisions. When that is ready to go I think I'll send a query to agent Kimberly Cameron before trying for another publisher.

Also, my article "You Have Just Been Served" appears in Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society for the next two weeks. Yeah!

More outline work

I did a little more work on the outline of the next 5 or so chapters worth of revisions for Complimentary Murder. There will be a few minor rearrangements, but most of it will be fine.

Researching... Researching...

I'm gathering info I'll need for various roleplaying projects and not doing much writing at this stage. I'm pleased with the vast resources on the web. Who needs a library in this bold, techno-age?
