Chapter 9

One more chapter with the corrections entered. I'm half way through, but I won't have a chance to work on Complimentary Murder again until the later half of next week, most likely.

I'll probably work on the GURPS: Faeries proposal until then with some time devoted to PSI Emergency's first draft.

Chapter 8

Is now entered. I'm guessing that Chapter 9 will be about the midpoint of the novel.

The chapter from hell

Chapter 7 was the biggest mess so far. I had 4 other chapters open on the computer's desktop and cut and pasting bits and dabs into the new file, then that stuff needed editing. Man! I'm taking a break.

Chapter 6

Chapter 6 was also short. I think 5 and 6 may end up getting joined before all is said and done.

Chapter 5

The revisions for CM's chapter 5 are entered. It was about half as long as the other chapters so far.

I see Blogger is not updating my posts because of some error. It saves my posts, just doesn't up the webpage. So a bunch will get posted at the same time when things get straightened out.

Dead Sea Murder nearly ready

The publisher at Rogue let me download the current version of my adventure book. There are some final tweaks to be made, but it looks good so it will be available very soon. I'm so excited!

Whew!

The nice thing about revisions, and entering those changes into the computer, is that it is so much faster than writing a first draft. I just completed the changes for Chapter 4. I'm guessing I am closing in on the 1/4 mark. With this mess scattered around, it is hard to tell.

Chalk up another one

Chapter 3 of CM was relatively painless. Looking ahead at Chapters 4 and 5, though... (shudder).

Chapter 2 done

Chapter 2 of CM is now entered, thank goodness. After a short break, I'll dive into chapter 3.

Complimentary Murder revisions

The revision for the first chapter are entered into the word program. What a headache. The first three chapters especially will be rough because of all the shuffling I had to do the get the body into the story as early as possible.

Momentary Panic

I was going to type up the couple of pages I wrote long-hand a few days ago in the latest chapter of PSI Emergency when my computer disk showed the disk as empty. I've backed up most of the chapters on a couple different disks, but the last 8 or 9 were only on that disk. I freaked and ran 'disk doctor', which said the disk had critical errors. I ran to another Mac we have and thank the Goddess it showed all my files intact. I went ahead and backed up the entire disk on another disk and printed the few things that I didn't have a print backup for. Whew!

I did then finally type the little bit of typing that needed doing.

Traveller stuff

Even though I'm still bummed about the rating of the last article, I worked on some Traveller projects tonight. I revised the bestiary article called "Infestations" and e-mailed it in to JTAS. If this one is rejected or gets another poopy score I may not continue working on the submission for the Traveller suppliment. Even so, I did a little research work for that suppliment, just a minor tidbit really.

Regarding the other gaming proposal I am working on (GURPS: Faeries), I am still going to finish and send in that proposal.

Bummer

My article rating in JTAS for "You have just been served" was a sucky 2.96 out of 5.00. Most articles range from the upper 3s to the middle 4s. I usually land in the lower 3s or upper 2s. Poop. I really thought it was the best of my articles so far. Hopefully my next article does better. If not, I may have to rethink sending a proposal for a Traveller suppliment. I don't want to write something that most Traveller players think sucks.

Faery progress

I've decided to go ahead and write the proposal even before sending the query. Then if they ask for the proposal I can e-mail it right back to them.

The notes and outlines from my research is starting to come together. I'll be ready to begin writing soon.

Stirring the pots on the backburner

I have not done much with PSI Emergency in a while so last night I worked on the next chapter of the first draft. It's a good start and I know where it is going so I may work on it some more today.

I also revised my next article for the Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society. It is a bestiary article, my first of that type. It's ready to be typed and sent, which will probably be on Tuesday that I get to do that.
