DONE!

The first draft of the sample for Fantasy Flight Games is done. It topped out at 1505 words. I'll give it a read through here in a minute and let it 'cool' for a couple of days before doing a final edit and sending it in.

FFG is supposed to have a 4-6 week turn around on submissions, but with the holidays it maybe longer or shorter, depending on if the editor takes the time completely off or uses it for going over submissions while the day to day grind isn't pressing.

I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. In the 6 unformatted pages I have two battles (one major), the discovery of a magic relic and a minor demonstration of its potential, a couple of hot elf chicks and lots of nail-biting moments. It better knock the editor's socks off!

1033 words

A little spurt there put me over the 1000 word mark. Now with lunch completed I am going back into the fray and try to finish up the story. There is a lot of action. I hope the publisher likes it.

500 Words

I'm making slow but steady progress. I don't have my usual music playing, which is usually how I get into the writing mood and stay there. I'm having trouble staying 'in the moment' more than a paragraph at a time.

But when I read back over the completed pages I find the story and the writing satisfactory. I guess I'll just keep plugging away. I'm about a third of the way through the story already.

Fantasy Flight

While I am waiting for the 'more detailed' comments from Steve Jackson Games I am going ahead and writing the sample for Fantasy Flight Games. The sample will be in their MIDNIGHT game setting.

REPLY

I finally heard back from the editor who has my sample for GURPS TRAVELLER: Psionics Institutes. He said the sample was a good start and he'll make a more detailed assessment over the Thanksgiving holiday.

That sounds promising!

Today I am working on two things. Adding to the Traveller's log and preparing for the Fantasy Flight submission.

Making Progress

I've posted the Traveller's Log through Dec 3rd. Those entries will appear at the date and time programed. The story has taken some interesting twists and turns. Lots of excitement and humor already. I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

A Good Start

The Traveller's Log has already had 10 visitors from all the site submitting I did yesterday. That's a good start. I have not even submitted it to gaming search engines yet. Cool.

Today I'm going to finish writing the leg of the trip she is on and hopefully get through her time downside before her next starship voyage. Things are starting to get very interesting for Isis and her big secret is about to come out.
