Story is done

I just completed a short story in one sitting. It ran about 9 pages, within the 10 page limit Wizards of the Coast asked for in their writer's guidelines. I'll revise it tomorrow and begin getting it ready to submit.

I'm actually very pleased with it.

Still no word from Steve Jackson Games.

Catching up

I'm listening to my favorite music station on LIVE365. Space Cadet is my background music for writing.

I also caught up on some e-mail with the new station manager for Mystery Radio Network.

I have a couple things I want to work on today. Writing-wise I have the sample for Wizard of the Coast I want to work on. I also have some tax forms for Realms of Enchantment, my next new enterprize. It has morphed again, and now I am going over to just internet sales-- as soon as I set up a website.

On a sad note, Holly Lisle has announced she is not updating her weblog anymore and is withdrawing from her internet writer's community because it was taking up her energy that she wants to put into writing. I understand that, but I have always found her site very motivating, as a writer, and I guess I'll just have to get used to rereading her old articles for inspiration.

Also, still no word from Steve Jackson Games about the proposal.

Mailbox Checking

No word from Steve Jackson Games about the proposal yet.

Off it goes...

The proposal for GURPS Traveller: Psionics Institutes just wizzed across the internet moments ago to the editor.

Gosh, I'm tense!

I'm going to grab "The Fellowship of the Rings" (the book, not the movie) and chill out for a while. I'll start obsessive checking the e-mail tomorrow.

Where has the morning gone?

I have completed the comprehensive outline and word counts by chapter. Wow, that took a long time.

I've decided to bump the character template into a character template chapter at the end of the book.

So just one last thing to do: Go through with the notes I made from the EXTENSIVE writer's guidelines on the Steve Jackson Games website. Some are minor and a few are major points I need to work on, mainly formating issues.

I'll get on those now and enter the changes this afternoon. By this evening (PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!) I should be mailing it off.

Time to get down to business

I came to work and finished all the important red tape that ties together all departments of this organization like sticky spiderwebs. With that crap done, I have time to finish work on the GURPS Traveller: Psionics Institutes proposal.

The have the sample chapter completed and edited once. I need to go over and expand the book outline and make 1 character template. double check all that and finally...finally...finally... e-mail it to Steve Jackson Games.

I expect a short turn around, although I'm not sure I should.

Whew!

I finished with the revisions on the sample chapter. I am now at 4434 words for the desired 5000 word count. I still need to add one character template which should add another 200-300 words. So I'm right where I want to be. I also need to redo the outline to include more information. I plan to finish up and send it by tomorrow night. (This time for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

9 pages down

13 pages to go on the revision of the proposal. I still need to add the character template and edit the outline, clean the whole mess up and e-mail it. I think I should have it done by tonight.
