Bumping Along Slowly

I revised 3 pages of Chapter 3. Mainly I had to go over my notes on the theme and try and think of new ways of approaching the same issue without repeating myself.

I also spent some time at Spicy Green Iguana which is a writer's market on the internet. I think I found a few magazines to send some of my old short stories to.

Progress

Chapter 2 of Complimentary Murder is revised now. The last bit may still need a little tweaking. I'll let it alone for now. I beat the revised page count, ending up with 19 pages instead of only 18. This balances out the first chapter which had been short a page. So far so good.

On a different note: Still no word from Rogue about A Tangled Web. I don't know if this is good or bad news.

Revisions

I seem to manage only one scene at a time, but I'm not sure this is bad. Instead of skipping ahead just to get done I'm working to make each scene as strong and vivid as possible. I was able to add a page and a half of new material to the first section of Chapter 2.

I've also decided not to reread my revised chapters until the whole thing is done. Then I only plan to read for typos and to format the manuscript.

Revitalized

I feel much better today. The next chapter in Complimentary Murder is calling for me to revise it. The Crystals and Caulrdons shop, owned by the main character, is developing into a character itself. I think if the series gets published I'd like them to run it as "A Crystals and Cauldrons mystery". All the books in the series were already going to revolve around the shop, and this just makes the shop an even more primary element.

I'll work on the revision of chapter 2 after I watch the new episode of Charmed (on the WB Network).

Day Off

I've given myself a day off from writing. I have a massive headache so nothing I read seems interesting. I'm spending my headache day surfing the internet, mainly at Orlando Bloom fans sites. (He plays Legolas on Lord of the Rings. So yummy!)
